SEPTEMBER 26, 2022.  BY THE VINEYARD TEAM.

It’s hard to believe that this is the 18th year of the Sustainable Ag Expo! What started as a one-day educational event has evolved to a full three-day conference with top notch experts and a full service trade show.

We’ve loved collaborating with our Lodi friends on this event. Working with Dr. Cliff Ohmart in developing this robust program has been a pleasure of course; and, Dr. Stephanie Bolton will give a talk about the importance of connecting the dots and the people to overcome our viticulture challenges. From climate change to biological control to vineyard real estate, the program is a direct reflection of the emerging issues and hot topics identified by our grower committees. And as always, our sessions include the practical, as offered by grower presenters and panels. Don’t forget, we’re offering 15+ hrs of CE for DPR and CCA. It’s a great one-stop conference for learning, networking, continuing education, and visiting beautiful San Luis Obispo.

Wishing everyone a safe harvest and looking forward to seeing you at this year’s Sustainable Ag Expo & International Sustainable Winegrowing Summit. Read on for more details!

Registration is open for the Sustainable Ag Expo. Research and innovations in viticulture and ag business are constantly evolving, making it challenging to stay up to date with the latest practices. By attending the Sustainable Ag Expo, you will walk away with practical information that you can put to work for your business. It will be held in San Luis Obispo, California on November 14-16, 2022.

The Sustainable Ag Expo includes three days of seminars and a full-service tradeshow and equipment showcase that provides an opportunity for farmers, ag professionals, and pest control advisors to learn about the latest in farming research, resource issues, and business trends related to sustainable agriculture. Participants can earn 15+ hours of DPR/CCA continuing education.

The headliner session is “Agricultural Robots: Technology, Applications, and Adoption” by Dr. Stavros Vougioukas. This talk will explain the technologies behind agricultural robots and discuss their capabilities, limitations, and evolution. Examples will be presented of agricultural robot use for precision management and the main challenges to the broader adoption of agricultural robots will be discussed.

Seminar and panel discussions will cover a wide range of topics from “Grapes and Wine: Balancing Supply and Demand Now and in the Future” to “The Potential of Regenerative Wine Growing.” A full list of speakers and topics along with registration information can be found at sustainableagexpo.org.

In addition to in-person seminars, this year we area also offering five online courses which are available from October 15 – November 30. Lodi growers will recognize several panelists in the list below:
